Tile and Grout Cleaning : Pembroke Pines : Floor Cleaners

Tile and Grout Cleaning in Pembroke Pines

Tile and grout cleaning is one of those chores that Pembroke Pines homeowners love to put off and who can blame them. Grout, because of its porous nature is exceptionally difficult to get clean. Dirt, grime and debris don't sit on top of grout it is actually absorbed into the material. The only thing that actually isn't in the grout is soap scum…that sits on top. Lovely.

When homeowners mop their tile and grout floors what they are really cleaning is the tile. There are several good tile cleaners on the market but even if you get the tile sparkling clean they will be outlined by dull or dingy grout giving the entire floor a "dirty" appearance.

There are two ways to correct this situation; do it yourself or call a pro.

Grab a Toothbrush and Strap On the Knee Pads

If you are going to try to clean the grout yourself you're going to need the following:

  • A spray bottle containing a 1:2 solution of vinegar and water as your cleaning solution. If your grout is extra dirty you may want to switch to a 1:3 mixture of bleach and water. If you go that route make sure you have ventilation as your nose will be about 18" from the action.
  • A toothbrush for agitating the grout. Apply the solution and then use the toothbrush in a back and forth motion along the grout line. Rinse and repeat until the grout appears to be clean. You'll perform this task for every inch of grout in the room.
  • If you run across a section of grout that is badly stained or damaged, you'll need a skill knife or flat head screwdriver to dig it out. You'll also need a ready supply of replacement grout.

Cleaning your tile and grout floors is a low tech operation when done by hand. Generally speaking, the more you scrub the better the results.

Get Professional Help

The alternative is to give your knees and back a break and call a professional tile and grout cleaner like Goldstar Cleaners. The technician will determine which is the appropriate cleaning solution (not all tile and grout is the same) apply it to the floor and then fire up the "evacuator" that eliminates the manual cleaning.

The truck mounted system provides steaming hot water, powerful scrubbing action and an industrial strength vacuuming action. The evacuator agitates the grout and sucks out the dirt and grime leaving your floors looking like new.

If that's the way you'd like to go, give us a call today and we will arrange an appointment for a cleaning.
